Class is Full
Instructor: Linda Zeigler
Students will use the Landis Valley Museum’s Tavern Bake Oven to bake sweet and savory dishes using the 18th and 19th century recipes. In this hands-on class, you will learn to fire and heat the bake oven, prepare and bake a variety of cakes, pies, bread, meat, and vegetables.
There will be plenty to sample in an end of class meal and some to take home. If you have a piece of hearth cooking or baking equipment you’d like to share or learn more about, please bring it along. Students should wear natural fiber clothes, no hairspray (as it is flammable). You may want to bring an apron.
