18th and 19th C African American History in Pennsylvania German Lancaster County
Please join us for our free April virtual program at 7:00 pm on 20 April. Dr. Leroy Hopkins, Professor emeritus, Millersville University, will provide a historical overview of 18th and 19th C African American life and history in Lancaster County, and their interactions with Pennsylvania Germans.
Dr. Hopkins is a graduate of Millersville State College (BA in German and Russian, 1966); graduate of Harvard University (PH.D. in Germanic Languages and Literature, 1974). Professor emeritus of Foreign Languages, Millersville University (2015). Long time board member of Lancaster History, past president of the African American Historical Society of South Center Pennsylvania, and a member of the Steering Committee of the Elm Street Project.
