Wednesday, February 5: “Simply Good”: Learn the tools and basic techniques used to create simple PA German Meal. Recipe included.
Wednesday, February 12: “Wooley Warm”: Step back in time and learn how to process natural fibers including both wool ad flax. Students will use “tools” authentic to the 1700s and 1800s.
Wednesday, February 19: “A Stitch in Time”: Attend “Sewing School” and learn basic stitches and techniques. Use this knowledge to create a “Needlebook” and “Felt Stuffed Animal.”
Wednesday, February 26: “A Snip Here, A Snip There”: Explore the art of “scissor cutting” or Scherensnitte. Create projects for various holidays using this historic art.
Wednesday, March 4: “Cream or Sugar” (a Victorian Tea Party): Enjoy a morning of tea ettiquette, parlor games, and needlepoint.
Wednesday, March 11: “The Birds and the Seeds”: Get ready for plating by learning about various types of gardening tools, learning how to plan a garden and visiting several types of gardens at Landis Valley. Also, bird watching will be introduced by exploring the outdoors.
Cost: $25.00 per class or $125.00 for all six classes (gives you one class free).
Hours: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
