Give your children an unforgettable summer adventure at these exciting day camps at Landis Valley.
This year, we will continue the exploration of the “Little House” book series written by Laura Ingalls Wilder. This book series continues to be a treasured source of literature for many generations of families. Our third year has all new daily themes and activities including:
-Assume the role of a “Farm Child”- learn to plow a field, harvest a crop, and the important role of the family cow.
-Sew a “9 Patch Quilt”. Includes a visit to the Collection Gallery to view several historic quilts with Curator Jen Royer.
-Explore the toys and games of the 1800’s. Make a Jumping Jack, Whirligig and simple doll. Play summertime games including Kick the Can and Red Rover.
-Attend Nellie Oleson’s Birthday Party. Learn how to make a frosted cake, ice cream, lemonade and other party favorites. Play parlor games including Blindman’s Bluff and Charades.
This camp is designed for both boys and girls ages 5-11.
