Join Jennifer Royer, Landis Valley curator, as we visit two studios and one redware shop that utilize traditional methods to create modern day Pennsylvania German redware pottery. Since 1976, Ned Foltz has created pottery at his historic schoolhouse studio. River Rat Pottery, working out of the Conestoga Area Historical Society, has been making traditional Pennsylvania redware pottery since 1991. Robesonia Redware was established in 2011 by Breininger Pottery employees that were taught by Lester Breininger for over 30 years. Each pottery makes traditional accurate work, which is truly of their own hands.
