Imagine being able to take a time machine back into the mid-1800s, so your children could experience what farm life in Lancaster County was like back then.
If you are looking for a way to create unforgettable memories with your children or grandchildren, Hands-On History Day is a great opportunity. Hands-on History Day is a set of unique learning experiences specifically designed for adults to do with children.
For instance, learn how to process wool, or do a Folk Art Craft and you can even experience “going to school” in a one-room schoolhouse to see what schools 150 years ago were teaching.
We create interactive, hands-on activity and learning stations around the property, where groups of children and adults can work together to discover what some of the more interesting farm chores were back then, what kinds of useful crafts were popular then, how things were made, and even what everyday items from back then give important clues to modern Archaeologists about what life was actually like.
It’s the kind of learning that few children get in school, yet that can have a huge impact on their view of the world in general and how people can thrive in it no matter what their circumstances are.
