Step back in time and experience the sights, sounds, and stories of the American Civil War during Civil War Days at Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum, taking place July 19 and 20, 2025. As part of our 100th Anniversary Celebration, this year’s event will feature even more immersive experiences for visitors of all ages, offering a unique window into life during one of America’s most pivotal eras.

Event Highlights Include:

• Military encampments with Union reenactors portraying soldiers’ daily life
• Live battle reenactments and tactical demonstrations
• Living history displays featuring civilian life, medical care, and period crafts
• Hands-on activities for families and children

Special Additions for 2025:

• 1800s Baseball Game Demonstration: Watch history come alive on the field as the Hunkey Dora 1800s Baseball Club demonstrates how baseball was played during the Civil War era.
• Guest Lecture by Historian Scott Mingus: Renowned Pennsylvania Civil War historian Scott Mingus will deliver a special lecture on the Lincoln Funeral Train, which passed through Lancaster in April 1865, honoring President Abraham Lincoln’s legacy and his connection to our region.

All activities, including the baseball demonstration and lecture, are included with your general admission for the day.

Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum is located on 100 picturesque acres in Lancaster County and is administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, with support from the Landis Valley Associates.
